Chipmark (“the App”) is developed and operated by PikePlace LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any personal data related to your use of the App. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.

2. Personal Data We Collect

The App does not collect, store, or share any personal information with us or third parties. All user data is securely stored on your device and synchronized via Apple’s iCloud services using CloudKit. We do not have access to your data at any time.

3. Data Controller

For the purposes of the GDPR, PikePlace LLC acts as the Data Controller, even though no user data is collected or processed by us directly. Data stored in iCloud is managed by Apple Inc., which operates as a data processor under Apple’s own GDPR-compliant framework. For details, please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy.

4. Lawful Basis for Processing

Because we do not collect or process user data, there is no active “processing” within the meaning of GDPR Article 6. However, any synchronization performed via iCloud is based on the user’s consent and Apple’s legitimate interest in providing cloud-based functionality.

5. User Rights under GDPR

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Restrict or object to data processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country

Since Chipmark does not process any user data, these rights can be exercised directly through Apple’s iCloud settings or by deleting your data from the App.

6. Data Storage and Security

All user data is stored privately within your iCloud account. Apple’s encryption and authentication technologies ensure that your information remains secure and inaccessible to us or third parties. We do not operate any servers or data storage systems outside of iCloud.

7. International Data Transfers

iCloud data may be stored on servers located outside your country, depending on Apple’s infrastructure. Apple implements Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other mechanisms to comply with GDPR requirements for international data transfers.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law or functionality. If we make any significant updates, users will be notified within the App before they take effect.
